  • About travertine slabs from Turkey

Travertine is a form of limestone laid down by mineral-rich hot springs. Gas bubbles caught while the calcium carbonate layers formed leave its typical natural pores and banded structure, which give travertine its warm, organic look.

Vein cut slabs are sawn across the natural layers and show straight, linear bands; cross cut slabs are sawn along the layers and show a softer, cloudy pattern.

Develi Marble cuts its travertine blocks on its own gangsaw line, processes them on its resin and polishing lines, and photographs every bundle in the yard — so each stone page shows real stock.
