Alabastrino Travertine
The look of Alabastrino Travertine
Alabastrino is a light travertine with a banded look. The photographed slabs show linear layers of cream, beige and pale gold, supplied raw, so the surface has not yet been given its final finish.
Raw slabs give you a choice of how to finish the stone, so ask what is possible for your order and how it would change the color. Fill is the other decision to settle; see our guide to filled and unfilled travertine.
Any bundles listed on this page are real stock, photographed in our yard, each with its own code. Send us the codes you like, with your quantity and destination, and we will reply with a price and shipping offer. If none are listed, ask us about availability.

About Alabastrino Travertine
Alabastrino Travertine is a light travertine from Turkey and comes raw (unfinished). Travertine is a form of limestone laid down by mineral-rich hot springs. Gas bubbles caught while the calcium carbonate layers formed leave its typical natural pores and banded structure, which give travertine its warm, organic look.
Vein cut slabs are sawn across the natural layers and show straight, linear bands; cross cut slabs are sawn along the layers and show a softer, cloudy pattern.
Alabastrino Travertine slabs are cut from the block on our own gangsaw line and processed in our factory in Turkey, then photographed bundle by bundle in our yard.
Typical properties of travertine
- Rock familySedimentary (spring-deposited limestone)
- HardnessAbout 3–4 on the Mohs scale
- TextureNatural pores; can be left open or filled
- AcidsSensitive, like other calcium carbonate stones
General values for travertine as a stone family, not a lab test of this block.
The finish
- Raw
- The surface as it comes off the gangsaw, before honing or polishing — for buyers who want to finish or process the slabs themselves.
Where to use Alabastrino Travertine
- Floors and wall cladding
- Facades and exterior cladding
- Terraces, patios and pool surrounds (with an unfilled, non-polished finish)
- Bathrooms and spa areas
- Stairs and steps
Travertine has been used outdoors since Roman times. For terraces and pool decks choose a non-polished finish, which stays cooler and less slippery underfoot.
Care
Seal after installation. Filled travertine is the easiest to keep clean; for open-pore surfaces sweep and wash with a pH-neutral cleaner.
