İzmir White
The look of İzmir White
Despite the name, the photographed İzmir White slab is not a plain white. It shows long horizontal bands of white and soft grey, closer to a striped look than to a cloudy one.
Those bands make it a strong choice for wide feature walls and long surfaces, where the lines can run unbroken. Because the color is more grey than the name suggests, judge it from the actual bundle rather than from the name. Our guide to judging slabs from photos explains how.
Any bundles listed on this page are real stock, photographed in our yard, each with its own code. Send us the codes you like, with your quantity and destination, and we will reply with a price and shipping offer. If none are listed, ask us about availability.

About İzmir White marble
İzmir White is a white-grey marble from Turkey and comes polished. Marble is a metamorphic rock: limestone or dolostone that was recrystallised by heat and pressure deep in the earth. This gives it a crystalline body, depth of colour and the veining every slab is known for.
İzmir White slabs are cut from the block on our own gangsaw line and processed in our factory in Turkey, then photographed bundle by bundle in our yard.
Typical properties of marble
- Rock familyMetamorphic, calcite-based
- HardnessAbout 3 on the Mohs scale
- PolishTakes a high mirror polish
- AcidsSensitive — lemon or vinegar can dull a polished surface
General values for marble as a stone family, not a lab test of this block.
The finish
- Polished
- Ground and buffed to a mirror shine that shows the full depth of colour and veining. Best for interior walls, vanity tops and floors in dry areas — it can be slippery when wet.
Where to use İzmir White
- Interior floors and wall cladding
- Bathrooms, vanity tops and shower walls
- Kitchen countertops and islands (sealed, with a natural patina over time)
- Stairs, window sills and fireplace surrounds
- Hotel lobbies, offices and other commercial interiors
- Tabletops and furniture
Marble can be used on facades and outdoors in mild climates; there a honed or textured finish is the better choice, because a polished face loses its shine in the weather.
Care
Seal after installation and reseal from time to time. Wipe spills quickly, especially acidic ones, and clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner.
